"It has been said that the forest knows all, and is able to teach all"
Alexander Porteous
This one of a kind handwoven scarf in rich woodland colours will keep you warm and cosy through autumn, winter and spring - gorgeous and so soft to touch.
It's inspired by the depth of colour in the shadows of an autumn forest, dark gold, chestnut, plum, sage, and mossy green. Colours revealed by the light that dapples through the dropping leaves, even as you approach the deep hushed heart of the wood.
'Forest Edge' combines handspun yarn from superfine Shetland wool blended with silk, and a deep teal British mill-spun yarn. The handspun is created on my spinning wheel and the scarf is woven by hand on a small loom, then lovingly fringed and finished.
This scarf is about 170cm (67in) long with an 11cm (4in) fringe, and 16.5cm (6.5in) wide.
Handmade by me when I was living on the Isle of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides, Scotland.
Hand wash with care in cool water and dry flat. May be ironed under a pressing cloth.

art textiles
I'm an artist maker in west Wales, creating with my spinning wheel and loom, looking for the beautiful in the everyday and seeking to tell small, slow stories in cloth.
The warmth of wool and the lustre of silk, the play of colour, the rhythms of the day and the fragments of memory - these are the elements that inspire me to create. I make scarves, textile jewellery, handmade cards, and woven abstract art cloth both framed and unframed. I also create handspun yarn, blended fibres for spinning and creative inspiration packs.
Some of my items were made when I lived in Scotland on the Isle of Tiree, before coming to Wales.
